You seem to be side-stepping what this was all about.  You and your individual mind = bad; Guru Maharaj Ji = good.  Surrender was nothing less than trying to eradicate the former and replace it with the latter.  Much like minerals replace the organic material in prehistoric trees and make petrified wood.  Mahatmas, later initiators and instructors, were supposed to be examples of that kind of selfless sacrificed devotee.  There was no other acceptable or desirable destination other than a fully surrendered, sacrificed being.  It was fun in the same way it must have been fun to paint posters for Mao's Cultural Revolution.  The moment one even thought of drawing back or doing something outside the narrow path of the cult, nothing but confusion, fear, guilt and doubt.  And that, I assure you, was no fun at all.
