Jim, there were ashram premies and non-ashram premies - a spectrum if you will. I strongly suspect that you were an ashram premie and as a result were more likely to be bound up in Maharaji-think.

To complicate matters even more, there was also a wide range of non-ashram premies. Remember those guys with a pack of cigarettes (both kinds) in their pocket who would pop into a bar after satsang? They were premies too – or at least considered themselves premies even if you didn’t.

Yeah, I know the ashram people looked down on the non-ashram types. But that went both ways. People not in the ashram often saw the ashramites as easily controlled saps who couldn’t think for themselves.

I read And It Is Divine and I also read Zen Flesh, Zen Bones. That’s the way I remember it Jim. Ya gotta see the big picture not just your own point of view.
