I only met Bruce once. I was delegated to run a vid or something up to Edinburgh, about 10 years back. My car had been serviced a couple of days before, and it took about 5 gallons to get there (should have been about 3). It turned out petrol had been spilling liberally all over the engine, and I could have flamed at any time. I found Bruce definitely OK and hospitable, though I think he was OZ rather than a Brit. The guy in the back is definitely Nick Seymour-Jones, aka locally as Nick See-More-Light. Sadly, he died of cancer some years back, but is affectionately remembered by just about everyone who ever met him as a decent and very human guy.
