That is *all* I am saying - 'the rank and file contributed to an extent' - yes, you do agree with me, they did contibute 'to an extent'. Some people think they did not contribute at all, and that is what I disagree with. They did contribute, to an extent. Phew! We got there!

I am not quite sure what your 'it's hardly the same' really means. Do you mean that it is not the same at all? If so, then we do still disagree. Do you mean it is not quite same, and the 'extent' to which some people (PAMs whatever) contributed was more than others? If so, yes of course.

There was a spectrum of 'extent' to which we all contributed - some on the lesser end of that spectrum, some on the higher end - but we were I think all on that spectrum line somewhere.

My disagreement is not with you at all, but with anyone who says they were a premie but were *not* on that spectrum at all - they did not contribute to any extent. That is just not believable, IMO.
