Another thing Glen recently did was consent to be interviewed by David V. Barrett, the author of The New Believers, an encyclopedic tome that describes the belief-systems of many NRMs (formerly 'Sects, 'Cults,' and World Religions : A World Survey and Sourcebook).
In the section on Elan Vital, Barrett uses many of Whittaker's quotes that explain the 'reformation' of Divine Light Mission to Elan Vital, through the 1980s and 1990s. It's a one-sided view, and Barrett never contacted any ex-premies, when he easily could have done, because the book was updated and republished in 2001. Barrett's approach is to give an uncriticial look at cults and NRMs.
I recently had a look at this book myself, and the section on EV is a pretty good whitewashed version of Rawat and his cult.
