Hey Gerry, Thanks for clarifying your response a bit! I guess I did not really explain my point for posting that as well, either. I agree with you about the aversion to all new-age self improvement stuff, I am starting to have more of a reaction to it all as I progress away from the cult. I just thought this was interesting as someone else's realization that the "just be happy, feel the bliss" as a be-all end-all is not a worthy  goal, and that it can exclude a person from real life. Interestingly, I read later that this woman has left the "metaphysical new-age community" behind and is pursuing a different study in academia. She was a victim of severe abuse as a child and tries to help other survivors. She is now pursuing a more mainstream road to doing that, to the horror of all her former new age buddies and followers.
