Hi Joe, I'm not a premie, I left even before you did because it became obvious that Divine Light Mission's so-called "techniques of Knowledge" were not working. I absolutely agree that EV is a cult. Now I can understand Gerry responding to what he thought I wrote but your posts are usually lucid and intelligent. I agree with nearly all of your posts but I find they paint the premie world too darkly and so I have tried to give a lighter and more realistic perspective. You have been out of touch with premies for decades, haven't you? I have maintained contact to this day. I enjoyed my 7 or 8 years in DLM and I see that lots of premies do to this day. It ain't bliss but it ain't bad. Think about it, if you had been enjoying 70's DLM life then the dualities weren't a problem, shallow and callow though they are. I enjoyed practising so I wasn't looking to "space out". I enjoyed the premie community but then I wasn't in an ashram. I'm not the osrt of person who is prepared to compromise on the promises that were made so I left but quite a few thousand people obviously are. |
