I've been mulling over this thread and Paddy's POV and I think you've touched on what concerns me.  There's a certain cynicism in Paddy, a sense that we're all just killing time 'til we're gone and might as well enjoy it however we feel comfortable.  I'd like to think I'm not there yet and, hopefully, never will be.  Put it this way, I'd rather be disillusioned by the truth than buffered in any false belief, regardless of how old I am.  And I'm not afraid to say that that's a value I do indeed project onto others.   Somehow, the truth matters.  Not just for comfort's sake or any other reason but that it's the closest these ephemoral mortal packages will ever get to  .... just to knowing what's what.  It matters but Rawat is a total impediment in its way.  I just can't resign myself to Paddy's way of thinking although, frankly, if I was married to a premie I, too, might acquiesce.
