Paddy, there is a big difference between being complacent and "used to it" and "getting what was offered." I suppose there may be premies who have gotten into a comfortable form of religion and don't really pay any attention to what they were told it was all about.
The "others" I'm referring to (and I actually think this is most, if not all, premies at certain points in their lives), when things aren't working, when Rawat is a jerk, when they are sick of it, they can't question the basic underpinnings because it would mean giving up what they have already invested.
I get the impression you are thinking that because premies look okay, and seem normal that they might not be in a cult, which I don't think is true. Further, you can get used to anything -- you can settle in to a comfortable, rationalized, unquestioning, belief system. That doesn't make it true, that doesn't make revisionism acceptable, nor does it make whatever efforts they make to support Rawat and his lifestyle anything productive.
Apathy and resignation ( and repression), should not be mistaken for peace or bliss. I know that premies are not alone in this, but Rawatism is the subject we are talking about.
