I remember thinking in my 40's that by the time we were in our sixties the cult would be well and truly buried, it was just a matter of waiting for the rest of the premies to come to their senses. and yet here we are and it's just revving up for a new golden age.

I like refried beans but refried cult? yuck.

Yesterday I finally managed to find the number of a plumber I knew was very good. He answered his phone, it turned out he was working nearby and within the hour there was a knock at the door and he had sent his offsider who checked out my water filters goes to get the correct ones, comes back fits them and then as he is leaving asks is there anything else you want done and omg, yes, my outdoor tap needed replacing, it had been bugging me for months. we also discussed my rusty gutters and rainwater flow and by the time he had left all my water issues were solved.

He left with a jar from my last batch of sweet chilli sauce, we both had smiles. And it hit me between the eyes - the impact of a good person is equally intense as from a bad one. Get lucky and find yourself dealing with a good tradesman and it is just wonderful - simple and easy dealings - problems being solved, rather than new ones being created.

It doesn't change how bad the news is in general though, does it.

Kudos to JHB for keeping this site going. And to all of us for doing our part in it.

I can't exactly explain it but I do know that honest accurate truth really matters to me, just the way I'm built, it's a normal way of being I think.
