You say - "For many people drinking and smoking are clearly incompatible with that message (that he has something that will give a person real peace, and he also teaches the importance of breath)". and that "those people should be given the information, and a clear choice about whether to follow his teachings". So what? Maharaji has said a million times that the "peace" he is talking about is independent of a person's culture, education, religion, race etc. It doesn't matter what you smoke, drink, eat or wear. So if you think it matters what Maharaji smokes, eats, drinks or wears or how he votes, you've missed the point. POV
