Elan Vital claim that ex-premies misinterpret Prem Rawat's words from the 70s, and that the Indian Mahatmas misrepresented his teachings. Here are extracts from a transcript of an audio recording of a public speech by Marolyn Rawat on March 5th 1978, in London, England, published by Shri Hans Productions. At that time Marolyn had been married to Prem Rawat for four years, and had borne him two children. There is no doubt here that she is refering to Prem Rawat when she says 'Maharaji' or 'Guru Maharaj Ji'. (NB, 'pranam' is the action of kissing Rawat's feet as a sign of devotion.)

" .... we are his children, and he is our father. And it's like, just for me, you know, Maharaji gives himself to me so incredibly and so beautifully, and I tell you when I go to do pranam sometimes it's not, you know, maybe in the best place. There's a chair there or a table, and Maharaji will take his lotus feet and move them towards me, and I tell you, that's the most precious thing he could ever do to me in this lifetime. To just make that gesture, you know like I could have to strain and kinda go under the chair and I could reach, but no he takes his foot and gives it to me to do pranam. In just the subtlest way almost like no one else would even notice it. And it's like, but he's always doing that for us all the time. He flies all around this world to come to us, to give us himself, to give his lotus feet to us, and we have no idea what those lotus feet are. And I feel like blessed is the day that Guru Maharaj Ji's foot touched this earth. I don't know when that was. Sure, Guru Maharaj Ji came into this world on Dec 10th in India and he was here, but ... just the day his feet touched this ground, touched this earth."

"But when we look at Guru Maharaj Ji, and we experience Guru Maharaj Ji, then there is no doubt, and we know, yes, you are my leader and I will follow you, you are my Lord and I am your devotee, you are my master and I am at your service."

Remember, this was his wife speaking.

I'll publish the full transcript, and the audio on mp3 files, in due course, but I couldn't wait to publish this.

To Marolyn Rawat, if you are reading this, remember your part in this phenomenon, and consider carefully what part you have yet to play.

John.
