Shame and embarrassment can't be the right reaction. If you are a professional, you have your reputation, your professional reputation to think of, I suppose. That would just be a wise career move, not really pure shame and embarrassment. The way our society is set up, you can't take the time to really know who it is you are entrusting yourself, or your whatever, to. You have to go by reputations. Is he a good mechanic? - you entrust your car. Is she a good teacher? - you entrust your kid. Is she a good veterinarian? - you entrust Fluffy.

I just ran my name through Google. Sure enough, some of my posts, and my Journey from '01 come up. It is a brave new world we are flying into, all right.

On a personal level, though, you have to move through the shame, not just seal it off and look the other way. Surely there are very valuable lessons to learn, starting right here at ExPremies. You know the William Blake quote, "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom."

And I feel that it takes a big person to open themselves up enough to make those big Rawat-size mistakes.

Well, that may be putting a bit of a gloss on it, but a lot of premies and exes are pretty great, IMHO.
