Dear moderator,
What a petty threat you've made to John. He clearly explained that he's been swamped with emails and was answering them at the same time. His post is not an "announcement", any more than any other post is.
And if someone doesn't want to answer any replies to their post, fine for them. Most people don't answer most replies anyway.
And, while we're on the topic, most of my posts to the moderators in the last few months went unanswered.
What's the matter with you? Is having the power to delete posts, but having no posts to delete, getting to you, so you're sure as hell going to find someone, somewhere around here to tell off?
