I am indeed aware of the invisible problems and hassles involved in running the forum, and as I've said several times, both in public and private, you have my full support.

However, if one of you gets "trigger happy", and starts threatening to delete posts because they may or may not be up for discussion, on the whim of whoever's on duty, I'll say what I think about it.

Because a moderator threatened to delete John's post publicly, I felt fine about commenting on it publicly. If you want to discuss what's deleted and not deleted in private, maybe you should have written to John in private too.

It's nothing personal- I don't even know who you are.

And as regards my advice about not worrying about making a wrong decision, as everyone forgets in a week, I stand by it. I don't think that's "wrong" advice at all. (It is possible to both be a harrassed shop assistant one day, and an irate customer the next.)

You should take my advice yourself and forget all about me. I'll be gone in a week.
