I don't know if you saw John's earlier posts, but I think the problem is that there is alot of manipulation involved in these posts, whether it is intentional or not on John's part. This is something I resent very much, especially coming from a trained journalist.

These aren't just public announcements like, "hey guys, I just moved to Japan. the weather is great", or "I just drove a bicycle across Europe". His posts had a deep effect on the ex-premies who populate this forum, for which he seemed to show no regard. Really it isn't much better than a premie troll telling us that we should just get a life and not harp on the past.

I refrained from responding to his first two posts as I really thought that he was losing it, as many others thought as well. This time he seems to want to clear up the matter that he is of reasonably sound mind. That is why I responded to him. I did take his post at face value. And the only conclusion that I can come to is that his series of posts were a big mind fuck. I can't see it any other way (unless he really is losing it, in which case it still is a mind fuck but perhaps somewhat understandable).

So in light of all that, I think that his posts are indeed an abuse of the forum insomuch as they are an abuse of the forum readers, especially because he refuses to engage in any discussion whatsoever.
