If you click on the link, you'll find that Elan Vital in the UK is completely freaked out by ex-premies, to the point of not only calling them a "hate group" in the most inane, circular, paranoid-sounding fashion you can imagine, but they seem to have added a few things to their list of outragous sins they claim to have been committed against them.  There is the usual bogus nonsense about poisoning the water at Amaroo and the like, but this seems to be a new one:

  • Recently, Maharaji has received death threats once over the phone and once in person. There were also two attempts to assault him physically.

Now, there is no reference of any evidence whatsoever as to WHO EV knows did this, if indeed they know, but it appears that anything bad that happens is due to the "hate group" and they are all ex-premies.  What is weird is that I was aware, when I was a premie, that a couple of Rawat's devotees had threatened his life, not people who used to be premies.  In my experience, it was always premies that Rawat was most concerned about and had the most to fear, since the group seemed to draw a high proportion of people with mental problems and pretty much nobody else (besides premies) even knew who he was.  I know, as a community coordinator for Elan Vital for a number of years, I had to deal with quite a number of these mentally unbalanced premies including a few who had threatened Prem Rawat's life.

This doesn't count my ashram roommate who tried to castrate himself in the bathroom, or another woman I lived in the ashram with who tore off all her clothes and stormed the stage at a Rawat "event" in about 1978.  I don't  think they threatened anybody.  They just had mental problems.

Anyhow, Elan Vital seem also to have added some things to their libellous list about who the "15-20" ex-premie "hate group" members are.  This is curious because for about four paragraphs, Elan Vital goes to great, repetitive, effort to explain that almost all the ex-premies are anonymous on the internet and under this "cloak of anonynimity" (and the cloak of Latvia ) they say a lot of bad things about Prem Rawat..  Then they explain who 10 ex-premies really are, so I guess it's the other 5-10 who are anyonymous and saying all this bad stuff.

Here's how they describe one of us:

One hate group member, a Vancouver-based criminal lawyer specialising in defending drug dealers and rapists, has repeatedly boasted of conducting similar harassment.

Later, they say this same lawyer "embezzeled $18,000" (they know the exact amount), but they don't know this person's name because this person is presumably anonymous.   I mean, Elan Vital claims to have all this specific information about this person, but they don't know who this person is, even if anything they say about this person is actually factual.  Riiiiiiiiight.

They also know that ex-premies are not "normal" nor are they "ordinary" (this is a problem?), "functional" or "law-abiding," and yet, again, they are all anonymous so they don't know who they are.

Do you think Glen Whittaker wrote this embarrassing, internally contradictory nonsense?  Is Glen Whittaker Pauline Premie?  Are rank and file premies just a tad grossed out by what their organization is saying?  Are they blissed out about it?  Does it make them feel love in their hearts, let alone does it make them proud to be a follower of Prem Rawat?

And what does Prem Rawat think of this?  Presumably it was run by him and he approves, but what does that say about him?  It doesn't seem to reflect on him too well, now does it?  Did anyone in the organization notice how this looks to the public, that the cult is not only paranoid, it's also vindictive and vengeful, as well as being illogical, talking to people like they are idiots.  And doesn't it just encourage people to check out what EPO is saying?  And wouldn't they then find out that a whole lot of the people posting (like me) are in fact not anonymous and actually have some legitimate gripes?  What does that do to Rawat's credibility?

    Anyhow, check it out.
