In death, we have no choice but to enter into this silent solitude, but should we really attempt it in life?  I used to think yes, but now I think it is nothing but a mistake.

I`m not so sure about this. I have found silent solitude to be an immense attraction, still do, though I`ve learned not to expect to remain with it at the cost of relationship.

This is an impossible undertaking and those who try it never succeed, they only pretend. They end up settling for a rebirthing of their own imagination, partly living in the world and partly pretending to be spiritual.

For myself, figuring out the difference between what is imagination and what is real seems to be the whole point of being alive. Call me `stupid`, but I`m a sucker for the universal religious impulse.

My understanding is this:  there is no spirituality apart from living.  Accept life.  If you try to deny yourself, you will become pathological, not enlightened.

Although Maharaji, among others, attempts to hijack spirituality this has not diminished my own deep interest in discovering the truth.

Still, we are going to die, and we can't escape that silent hope entirely.

Death gives life its meaning.

As far as the possibility that Rawat is referring to himself as the only Friend, here in the flesh to help solidify the transaction, well, that is hugely absurd and there is nothing more to say about it other than denounce it.  There is no greater con.  And those who fall for it are the greatest fools.

Seeing the lie is the truth. Seeing the illusion is the reality.
