I will concede the point that DNA evidence can be used to trace the lineage of certain evolutionary paths.  But evolutionary paths are not controversial, they are obvious.  The question of the mechanism remains unanswered particularly in the case of DNA itself.  DNA is complex coding (intelligence?) that communicates itself, not only that, it is alive and reproduces itself.

CORRECTION:  The article about the various topics for which science currently has no answers was not in "Science" but I believe it was in one of this summer's issues of "Scientific American."  I will have to look it up to give the correct citation.
