I personally think language is a manifestation of the collective unconscious -- that it's all part of the same thing, something deep within the human genetic code. I also think it evolves, obviously. "Collective unconscious" might be the wrong term for it, but I think it's in human genes. Actually, didn't Freud believe in the collective unconscious, sort of? I know he said that historical human experience becomes part of the Id.

In this backward country where the President and a doctor who is also Senate majority leader want religious "intelligent design" taught in science classes for kids, we are in big trouble and I'm not surprised that people would start stealing those things. What century did you say this is?
