It wasn't Hans Jayanti.  It happened the 1st weekend in Sept. of 1979. Hans Jayanti was always around Shri Hans birthday on Nov 9th. It was Hurricane David and it struck around September 8th or 9th.  Maharaji didn't have a Guru Puja festival in the states that year so the Sept. program was scheduled.  DECA was getting geared up for the big move to the 100,000 sq. ft. Complex in Hialeah.  With the weekend festival happening in Miami Beach and the Hurricane blowing in Maharaji decided (at the last minute) to evacuate all the ashram/DECA premies out of Miami Beach.  We all ended up (including all the premies who had already arrived in Miami Beach for the festival frrom all parts) up in Orlando/Kissimme out in the field with the high winds blowing and I remember running off that field.  I ended up in a hotel with other ashram premies to wait it out before heading back to Miami and DECA.  That was the program when Maharaji had "middle of the night" darshan!  Hey, you can't reconfigure a B707 without the proper financial backing.
