Thanks for refreshing my memory, John.  I do remember that storm and the roof coming off.  I read "Hurricane," and Hurricane David came to mind and that did happen in Sept. 79

I was so tired during that Hans Jayanti 79 festival -- I can't tell you how tired I was.  I had been at DECA for over six months by then.  I was a crispy critter.  Plus, they had bused us up to Kissimmee in a school bus and it was so uncomfortable I couldn't stand it.  A school bus for children for a six hour drive.

During that year through 1980, I never spent much time at festivals such as sitting through the all day marathon on-stage satsangs. I would receive a phone call from M's security telling me when he was expected to arrive at the festival site and I'd tell the staff it was time to get on over there to hear him.  At the HJ festival it was when he'd be coming out of his back-stage luxury accommodations to appear.

This was so that DECA premies could keep on working until Maharji was just about to come out on stage or in this case appear at the ashram meeting.  They did let us break to eat though.

We were holed up in a DECA trailer throughout the HJ79 festival during the days, working on DECA stuff.  I remember trying unsuccessfully to find a private place with a plug to blow-dry my hair in that trailer.  So I dried my hair in the office.  I was miserable during that HJ festival.  The DECA trailer at HJ was on to the left of the stage (facing the stage).  If memory is serving me, the ashram meeting was held on the other side of the stage.

Thanks.  Must get the facts correct!
