By that time ....1979....I'd left the ashram for quite some time, about 4 years or so I guess.Always in conflict about it, though, because apart from the " Im normal, don't kiss my feet" period of '76, he was relentless in getting across the point that anything but total surrender was second best. A few months later I shared a tent at Orlando with a lady and our 9 month old daughter.....so I was a householder....the ashram days over...I'd blown it : ) And that Hans Jayanti was the one with the mild hurricane...remember that ? I remember waitng for some food and the big metal containers were just blown away. I rushed back to the tent. The mother thought it was the end of the world, the child was giggling and I was holding onto the little tent....really feeling exhilirated by it all...then again, I always do when nature unleashes incredible force and power.
