Cynthia,

Dermot is talking about the storm on the (I think) second to last day at Hans Jayanti in 1979. This happened in the morning while the ashram premies were waiting for Rawat by the stage. The storm took the roof off the stage and blew away lots of tents. I was there with my first wife and we packed everything in our suitcase inside the tent, wrapped the suitcase in a plastic bag, and huddled inside the tent hoping it would hold. We had bought it especially for this trip having stayed in a hotel in 1978. Anyway, the wind was so strong it blew a fine spray of rain through the double layer of the tent, but otherwise the tent held. Afterwards, other, more solid looking tents around us were in tatters. I still have that tent, and used it for a friend's Latvian pagan wedding on top of a hill a couple of years ago!

I also remember the reports about the hurricane in Miami where Rawat moved the program to Kissimee that you refer to but I wasn't there.

John.
