Did anyone lose a spouse or not have kids because of rawat?

Premie Spouse's questions and the following responses were really great. They brought up for me the memory of my first relationship after the ashrams closed. I was 30 years old, but emotionally I had no experience in relationships since I moved into the ashram at 20. I became engaged to a fellow, LT. We were having a great time and he was interested in receiving k. His birthday was coming up and I bought him a ring - something with a tiger's eye in it -and we had plans for dinner. Well about 5 days before the big day, rawat announces a surprise event in Santa Monica on the same date. Well I just HAD to go. I could tell LT was not pleased, but he came along anyway. He went ahead and received k, but never practiced it. He made it clear he was no longer interested in getting married. We broke up a few months later when he insisted on having an "open" relationship (ah, the '80's).

I don't know if I would have had children if not for rawat. I never had a desire for them. I may have mindlessly follow the current culture and had a family just because I was "supposed to."

I am curious about how rawat disrupted other peoples maturation process in relationships, family and children. I have heard a lot here about premie relationships with parents and the destructive nature of the cult, but not enough about how rawat f****d up us as parents and spouses.

P.S. I went on a tear over on Sacred Cow with a lot of bathroom humor about rawat. I know it may have been offensive, but it was very therapeutic for me. I got it all out of my system (I think). I hope it wasn't too much of a turn off.
