Not my experience, nor anyone that I know. But I do remember someone who used to post here a while back. She related a very sad story. I can't remember when this happened (70's? probably), but she fell pregnant, and was in a quandry about what to do, what with all the devotion, and ashrams springing up at that time. She sought the advice of a mahatma who told her to have an abortion and to dedicate her life to M by moving into the ashram. She did this, but she never got over the abortion and still regrets it to this day.

On a lighter note.... I wouldn't worry about your posts on Sacred Cow! I think they were pretty tame compared to some of the stuff that gets posted there. And as you say, it is therapeutic. Might try it myself!
