Acceptance is not the same as embracing. I can accept things if I have no control over it. That doesn't mean I have to like or embrace it. I like mysteries in novels and the movies. In life, I'd like to know what the hell is going on, thank you very much. I don't care for mystery in that regard. If I can't know, fine, I'll accept that, and the older I get the more it looks like I'm just going to have to. But I doubt I'll ever like it, let alone embrace it. I saw a movie once called Straw Dogs. I think it starred Dustin Hoffman. I never read the book.
