I was also inclined that way - I have had my share of mystical experiences. I believed, but I have come to the conclusion now that it was entirely subjective (it was entirely internal, and had no external effects). My experiences aren't unique - I have met one or two people who have had similar experiences, and I have read descriptions too that fitted with my experience. However, I figured the experience could be interpreted in so many ways, I decided not to try to create my own interpretation, and choosing another was a case of eeny meeny miny mo.
The surprising result is that without God, Maharaji, and a whole pile of concepts.. my life is pretty much the same. Philosophically, I am at a loss. Life seems to have no purpose, beyond the usual of watching the kids grow up etc. Day to day, however, life is as good as ever. I think I can live without having to justify my life, or finding a purpose. It's worked for a while now anyway.
