Stephen A. Kent argues in his book "From Slogans to mantras" that some anti-war protestors, such as Rennie Davis, changed the means to achieve peace by defecting from anti-war protests to religion. The aim stayed the same. This sounds reasonable and plausible to me. I also noticed that Rennie Davis delivered a talk at "A Course in Miracle" (ACIM) center recently. Obviously he still has his old idealism. I guess others (Jim?) would see Rennie Davis, not as idealistic in the first place, but as suffering from enduring gullibility, naivety, and superstition.
