I think this is a good direction to go-I like the letter and also agree with many of the points made so far.
I think that Rennie always had a strong of social justice througout all of his past endeavors.....once he got into maharaji in the early 70's he seemed to "trip out" a lot, and got very grandiose in his predictions and beliefs with the spiritual stuff, which seems to have continued with other post perfect master stuff as well...
However, Rennie, like many of us, is now a "greybeard" due to time, and I do think he could be reached from the same angle that Mike Dettmers was, in that his statements could help people struggling with leaving and new potential recruits in casting a bit more scrutiny towards the speaker....it really is a moral responsibility to at least share what you found objectionable about the whole thing with others...
I also believe he might be reluctant to offer more than a brief statement, almost like a press release, stating that he once was involved, but after a few years parted ways, finding other things more congruent with his growth etc., and wishes everyone peace and happiness etc.-in short, kind of nondescript and political in nature, just the sort of thing he detested in the 60's....
I think it's worth a try, but not expecting too much....
