Mr. Davis,Apologies for this unsolicited email. As I'm sure you are aware, Guru Maharaj Ji, who you described in your introduction to the 1974 book, 'Who is Guru Maharaj Ji', as 'the Master Soul', 'The Lord of the Universe', and 'the Perfect One', is still in business calling himself 'Maharaji' or using his real name, Prem Rawat. I run a website providing information about him that he, and his organisations, would prefer to be kept secret. As you were a prominent supporter of Maharaji in the 70s, and as many young people joined his cult partly as a result of your recommendation, I was wondering if you would like to contribute your views on that period of your life for the website. If you are willing you could write a brief article, or alternatively, I could provide a list of questions for you to answer. Other prominent premies of the time such as Mike Dettmers, Mike Donner, and Mike Finch (don't worry that your name is not Mike!) have contributed to the website, and a contribution from you would be a great addition. The late Bob Mishler is also featured through preserved recordings of radio and telephone interviews. If you haven't read these you may want to look at http://www.ex-premie.org/pages/pams.htm.
I do hope that you find the time to contribute, and especially I do hope that you are not overly embarrassed or ashamed about that period of your life!
All the best,
John Brauns
