Joe,
He hasn't denied the truthfulness of anything he said or wrote about Rawat and the cult, or his involvement. His "apology" is all in the realm of his subjective sensitivities, like that it was all his "choice" (no matter how much a destructive cult it is), and that he should have had more sensitivity to the feelings of poor Prem Rawat and his premies. First of all -- gag -- but secondly, that's all a personal, introspective evaluation, and he's entitled to it, I guess.
John cannot deny the truthfulness of the "Blinded by the Light" article because it's a true account of the Prem Rawat, a/k/a Maharaji, formerly known as Guru Maharaj Ji, cult.
20/20 is always hindsight, but I'll tell you, had I known what that the cult was going to practice Scientology "Dead Agent" tactics over that article, against John or anyone, I'd have refused to have anything to do with it. It's just not worth it. We've all gone through enough with that cult.
I misjudged the situation and underestimated Rawat's wrath, especially over those documents. In retrospect, I would have told John to forget about that article and just read the forum and post here, or not. The most beneficial aspect here is the eagerness of folks to figure all this cult stuff out. I think that John is just at the beginning of that journey now. I wish him well, too, because as so many of us know, it's difficult to look at all of that stuff and be honest.
I don't have time in my life for the type of gameplaying that John is engaging in now. That's how I read it, but then again, all I have to go on is three posts.
