I think he said he's gotten 40+ emails from ex-premies and that some number of those were "angry." Jim, I'm pretty sure that John would categorize yours as "angry."
He hasn't denied the truthfulness of anything he said or wrote about Rawat and the cult, or his involvement. His "apology" is all in the realm of his subjective sensitivities, like that it was all his "choice" (no matter how much a destructive cult it is), and that he should have had more sensitivity to the feelings of poor Prem Rawat and his premies. First of all -- gag -- but secondly, that's all a personal, introspective evaluation, and he's entitled to it, I guess.
So, as for his integrity as a journalist, I think he still retains that, from what I can tell.
But, again, the whole gravamen of what John is saying has not changed, and it is the following (which is my rendition of what John is actually saying):
"I rue the day I ever took possession of a meaningless, internal cult document about IRCC, because it put the crack in the door to release the fires of hell on my life, and to the extent I can say I'm sorry for being so effective in calling you on the carpet, to get you to stop destroying me, I'm doing it."
Now, I think that if he can also imply that he is doing that while undergoing the stings and arrows of the ex-premies "hate group" he's doing that as well.
