The article was excellent and important.  It had a serious impact on Rawat's profile in Australia where he must know the gig's essentially up for him there.  I don't think we're going to see Linda Pascatto running off to get him any mayoral citations there, let's put it that way. 

The article is also clearly separate from the later problems John had with the cult.  It provoked no legal repercussions, for John or the papers that ran it, because it was good, clean journalism.  What happened with the documents was a whole different ball game.  John did something arguably wrong, even if only in a technical, formalistically legal sense.  The cult came down on him like a ton of bricks (obviously still smarting from the article) and John didn't play out the rest of the game well.  But the article was really good work.  It was written when John was an investigative journalist.
