Hi Joe,

I really enjoy your posts and hope you keep contributing.

I agree entirely that it was John's ability to have articles printed in Australia's mass media that caused them to go after him as they did. It may even be true that there were "goons" going to places and scaring his friends, though I think his paranoia heightened the importance of these events considerably.

"chasing him across the continent and harassing him" - There was a court order to serve on him. John was a long term resident of the Byron Bay area where all the premies (not that there are that many of them) know everything about everybody else and someone knew where he'd gone chasing a lady love. A solicitor for EV, a solicitor appointed by the QLD court to advise John of his rights and responsibilities and a computer expert were flown to Perth and at least one private investigator was hired and the EV solicitor served him with the papers. He knew who they were and what they wanted as was proven in court later through his own computer records and admissions. The fact that they went to the expense of getting him taped shows they might have had advice from his "premie friends" of his possible reactions. Even in Australia people are served with court orders regularly.

It sounds like your observations of Australian premies are made via the Internet but if you're ever in Australia let's get together and I'll introduce you to a few. The internet 'Catbox' scene is centered in Byron Bay around a few scumbags and crazies and naturally attracts the nuttier and nastier premies from around the world. Some of my premie friends are as disgusted by it as you are. I have no axe to grind here. I met plenty of nuts in my 70's sojourn in DLM but it appears that you're basing this idea on defective evidence.
