"Not judging" is basically immoral, and it's what many Germans did in WWII that aided the Nazi's in doing what they did.  That's an extreme example, but all of us, in our everyday lives continually make choices about whether we are going to stand by and do nothing, or addess injustice, discrimination, etc.

And I think many of us (and clearly this is true of the Rawat cult), use the excuse of "tolerance" to mean "not judging," and avoiding addressing something that is wrong because it might disrupt our comfortable lives.  It's a convenient excuse to avoid responsibility and then be the good German who watched their neighbors being murdered, but didn't feel it was any of their business and they weren't in any position to judge.
