" So I guess that if the definition of "nice, decent" is just being pleasant with others, I'm sure most premies would qualify."

Theat's a good start for discussion.

Jonx wilfully avoids the truth and undoubtedly knows the truth about Mr Rawat. He's the sort of person who isn't horrified by Rawat's abuse of his position to gain wealth and similar benefits, he envies Rawat and wishes he could emulate his master.

Why should the majority of premies have any idea of or belief in Rawat's pecadilloes? If they hear of such a thing they dismiss it as smear campaigns from a hate group. It's not as if they're seeing exposes on TV about Rawat. In fact, they're now seeing that Rawat is being lauded in the Italian parliament, being feted by congressmen in the US House of Representatives and being awarded keys to the city by cities such as LA.

The ethical arguments about ends and means has been going on for millenia and so far it's pretty obvious that most humans have no trouble using any means if they believe the end justifies the means. What's a little white exaggeration between friends if it will bring people to the chance to experience "inner peace" and express their heartfelt expressions to the best little ole inspirational speaker in the whole wide universe.

You only seem to able to see two ethical colours: black and blacker. There are a whole lot of greys out there in human being land so take off your black spectacles and put on ones that show the world in its rich ethical spectrum of shades of grey.
