Hi Gok,

Your post really got me thinking. I started to remember my most special moments.I was suprised to realise that the nicest ones had  nothing obvious to do with PR.

I wonder if you live in Ireland ? I also wonder if you have an Irish accent?. If so listening to your posts might make me want to get nollidge all over again.( weak at the knees ).

I am a little disappointed that you GOK, an Irishman , "can't sing" and lurked in the middle of the premies during " Arti" ( really...what kind of devotion is that ! )  Singing is what I have always loved to do. When I was a kid I sang with my family in harmony ( mostly folksy and country stuff and old Carter Family Gospelly things ). I'm pleased to see you like a bit of country music ( John Prine wasn't it ?) and see this as a very endearing quality. I still sing to this day ( sometimes with my brothers ).I belong to a close harmony choir( and it's nearly California Dreamin' time.)

Sometimes when we get it right ( or even when we get it wrong ) singing is a very powerfully emotional experience. I am often filled with love and reduced to tears.

Below is a link to a pic of my brother( Phil Thrift ) up on stage in Oklahoma playing banjo with Earl Scruggs ( Banjo Guru). ( I think that was Phil's special moment) He's the one nearest the left of the pic and his hero is next to him at the back.( the pics of " The Thrifts" on that site are my bro and his wife, Eve.)
