I went to watch videos with a woman I met, she invited me. She is a premie. A few other friends of hers were also invited. I had a difficult time listening to Rawat for 30-40 minutes at a time. Very redundant material. But the premies and this woman were amazed at what he had said everytime and how it sounded so much as if he was addressing them personally and where they are in their lives at this time and golly gee whiz didn't that hit the nail right on the head. It was quite comical really.I remember once we discussed a video where he had said "I'm not here to tell you what you could be, I'm here to tell you what you are. When I come here to tell you what you are, I do not need a scale. I do not have to weigh you or judge you. Because you are already who you are. I have nothing to prove to you. Some people say Well, prove it. And I have no proof. So how do you know what I am saying is true? Ask Yourself. Don't ask me, ask yourself. ASk your heart if what I am saying is true. When I say you can feel your heart and you should really feel peace, I really mean that. Not as a concept or idea. If I can make that possible in your life, then great. If not, go look for it somewhere else. But I can really make that possible.
When I asked about the way he makes that possible, I was told that there are techniques of meditation. I meditate daily and thought, well what kind of techniques. That's when I was told that "when you are ready, you will be taught the techniques". I was told about the upcoming KEys and how the system will work to get me 'ready'. I thought, no way am I going to sit through more of the same redundant nonsense.
That's when I sought the answer from a higher power. The internet. And found a few of these sites and even a page that explained the techniques. I have heard of some of these techniques in my practice and discussions of meditation but never used them, in fact, I never needed 'a master'.
When I discussed the websites and the information I had found here, I was immediately outcast from the group of people I used to go to videos with. The woman I met now has nothing to do with me. I suppose if they really listened to their master, they would not judge me for being curious and for not believing. I think Rawat says it best. "Maybe it's not for you. If not, you can go find it elsewhere."
Is it a cult? Yes, I believe it is a cult based on some of the indoctrination process that took place and with the upcoming Keys video/dvd process, and the weekly emails I receive from the list I joined. They are definatley seeking weak minded individuals, which in hindsight, the woman I met was.
