Perhaps I missed it, but how was it you began going to watch the Rawat videos?  Is a friend of yours a premie?  It's great to hear you saw through it.  I wish someone had given me this kind of information when I was in the "aspirant process," to receive knowledge.  That would really have helped a lot.

When I read about "the keys" and the literally 75-80 hours (at a minimum) of Rawat talking that one would have to watch, it becomes clear that this isn't about learning anything.  I mean, Rawat dosesn't say anything, really,  and there isn't any kind of curriculum or course that people take.  It's just "it's inside" and "trust me to show you."  Over and over and over and over.

It's clear that the whole point of this marathon (five months!) of watching this repetitive banter is just to wear people down, to the point they are willing to say, okay, (if they make it that far) I'll forget my questions, if you give me knowledge, and I'll pretend I have no questions, in fact I'll push them down so much that even I don't think I have any, so, I'm ready.

It's also to stoke this "thirst" business.  A certain number of people will become almost obsessed with receiving knowledge, such that it is the most important thing in their lives and they are desperate to have it.  The whole system is designed to evoke that.  Rawat says you have to have this "thirst" first.  Why, he doesn't ever say, but it is a wholly manufacturered feeling.  I think many of us remember getting to that point, thinking that we couldn't live another minute without knowledge.  Again, completely manufactured.  If you get somebody into that state, they will suppress most of their thinking processes and it's more likely they will stick around, and stay in the cult, which is, of course, the whole point.

You can bet that the same humiliating "selection" process as in the past continues even with "the keys."  If an aspirant does not exhibit the proper fawning reverence to Rawat, if not utter worship, and an "understanding" that Rawat is his or her "master" and indispensible for the rest of their lives, they are not going to get the precious, holy, DVD with the techniques.  Also, despite watching the deadly boring "keys" for 5 months, whether someone is going to get "knowledge" or not, will be hung over their heads for as long as possible, such that when they actually get it, they will feel even more special and privileged, and, of course, grateful.

I doubt very much than anyone will be able to make their own "decision" about when they are "ready" to get the techniques, despite the cult PR.  That is just not going to happen, you can bet on that.
