Everyone I know who attended the 1987 Rejoice events and who I talked to expressed surprise that the techniques as taught by Rawat were different to those taught by the mahatmas. How could this be? I must say though that not all mahatmas taught heavy pressure for the Light technique.

Of course, the biggest change was that previously we were taught to meditate on Holy Name 24*7 (the commandment 'Constantly Medititate and Remember Holy Name' an explicit but far from only example of this teaching), and on Nectar whenever we weren't eating or speaking. Rawat made the most drastic change in his teachings when he said these should only be practised in formal meditation.

Please do not attempt to lie about this - I was there, and Rawat was specifically asked about the change, although his answer, as I recall, was vague.
