I outlined two positions on opposite sides of the continuum and there are possibly as many places on the continuum as there are individual premies. I think your statement "I didn't think about any of this too deeply" could well be the premie motto. Thinking about any of this too deeply reveals the flaws in the Elan Vital "line" as currently expressed in the Elan Vital FAQs on the web sites. Thinking too deeply about "any of this" would involve thinking about things like why Elan Vital has been a failure in it's main public goal of "propagation" no matter how "hands on" the Speaker has been. People can think "now at last propagation is going to really take off" plenty of times apparently, as long as they don't think too deeply.It also explains why my idea that most premies I know think that I'm crazy is true. No no, that's the wrong idea. I mean the idea I have that most premies I know are happy. Why shouldn't they be? "Knowledge" will only be a problem if you think deeply and after all, even you, the number one Lord of the Hate Group, spent many years as a premie happy enough not to bother with deep thought.
There was always an EV line as there was always a DLM line though in the peoples' satsang days it was a little looser. Peer pressure and modelling educated the majority of premies and the disruptive elements were frozen out. But it was all written out as well in 'Who Is Guru Maharaji', the magazines, the movies, the videos, the initiator satsangs, etc
