I think your statement "I didn't think about any of this too deeply" could well be the premie motto.This is what I was trying to say below in answer to your question about how premies accepted all the changes. It sounds very simple, but the reason I didn't think about these things too deeply is because of the thought control process I allowed myself to go through. As long as I didn't think about these things, it was fairly comfortable, and unfortunately, no one challenged me for many, many years, so my comfort wasn't disturbed. Finally, EPO did challenge me, and after a short period of discomfort, this part of my mind was freed. I think for current western premies, some of that discomfort is now ever present, as they all know about EPO and the other sites, even if they won't read them.
May I ask, has your wife sat down and read EPO?
