Premie Response: It is one thing to defend a principle, a belief, an ethos or a culture, but invest emotional energy in defending an 'organisation' over which you personally can never have influence is to lose all self worth. What is it ? - That TPRF is to become 'Mother Church' of Rawatism - an ediface so holy that it must never be criticised ? Your arguments are so turgid, and as you haven't answered a single point with any cogency there's realy nothing further I can respond to. Yadot >Why when TPRF offers all it's material for download is it spending nearly $200,000 per annum on printing ? Check the TPRF online store. many of the materials are available in print, audiom DVD, Video, etc. For those mere mortals without an always-on DSL line.< So what you are saying is that TPRF's primary activity is the production and sale of materials ? >Given that over 40% of its income is going toward 'Production' - does TPRF pay any licensing or other fees connected with copyright to any other entity ? No, no, no... You simply cannot see that the figures are all audited. An audit of a non-profit include, (of course!), any of these transactions.< Enron was audited right up to its collapse - the role of auditor does not extend to making moral judgements about 'appropriateness' of contracts - nor in the case of Charities does it extend to making judgements of Charity law or IRS regulation. An audit simply deals with the mechanics of financial administration. Even then one needs to (as with Enron) look at how independent the Auditor is - for instance especial worry would arise in the case of TPRF if the auditor was a premie. >Does TPRF have a commercial relationship with any subsidiary of Elan Vital or private company, from which Prem Rawat, members of his family or individuals who hold positions in either TPRF or Elan Vital derive income or other benefit ? Nope, nope, none, niente, nada. You nuts? (maybe). You cannot have a non-profit 503(c) with any of that shit going on... face it... you have nothing to hang your hat on!< 503(c) is just a tax code - it does not mean anything more than any other tax code. The IRS provides virtually no year on year oversight of Charities and investigations result only from complaints from the public. As to that 'shit not going on' - are you saying that Rawat's children have never been employed or enjoyed benefits from companies which trade with EV ? You see we are talking 'track records' here, TPRF didn't just come out of nowhere - EV, also a 503(c) non profit which is protected from having to publish its f990 statement (annual accounts) by claiming 'religious status', has had some pretty dubious commercial relationships. EV may not have done anything illegal but 'charities' have to do more than just 'stay legal' if they are to command trust. >A figure of 1% is given for Charitable That was in 2003. In 2005 at least $120,000, close to maybe 8 or 10% of 2003 income?< The issue is not simply the amount but TPRF's competence to deliver - in the circumstances of a 'disaster' why would anyone trust an organisation that has no experience in the field - and only handled $9k of Humanitarian funding previously - to be able to effectively deliver aid. It is not what TPRF is about is it ? TPRF is about glorifing Rawat - to the extent that the IRS believes that is a charitable purpose - fine, but TPRF should leave disaster funding to the professionals. |
