and I would like to add that when I moved in, in the late 70s, you would not even have been allowed to move in if you had a drug or drinking problem and you needed to have a job and be a "strong" stable premie. You were expected to become an asset to Maharaji and not a rehab patient. In New York, as in some other places, they even had a pre-ashram, where people could test their committment to the austere lifestyle but also where the community coordinator or initiator could determine your "worthiness". I had to wait quite a while before I was allowed to move in and other people had to wait much longer. It was exactly the opposite to the claim EV is now making.
