I remember at Geneva in 1978, sitting watching Maharaji on stage bare-chested in his crown and mala, how I saw him turn blue in front of me. As the curtains around were blue, and on the video he was still brown, I thought this may be an illusion, and was actually amused. Then he turned blue on the video also.I asked the guy next to me at the end if he had seen this, and he said no.
I've never explained this, and would be happy to hear if anyone else ever had the same experience.
Naturally, there are obvious explanations such as auto-suggestion or maybe looking through the eyes of love.
In any case, as San's story perhaps suggests, there seems to be a great deal of difference between seeing Maharaji always as a distant observer, and having known him personally.
I must say, I often experienced a lot of quite profound love by being in Maharaji's stage presence. Maybe this is to do with the teacher being able to push certain buttons.
Although I have attended no local programs since Nottingham time in 2001, and in all likelihood never will again (God preserve me from anything to do with cult), I still practise meditation and often experience the same love.
All of which makes me think that this love belongs to us quite naturally, and is certainly never given to us by any other person who can turn it on and off according to their own whim.
