I have heard similar stories about SSB turning blue too. Most notably the late John S. Hislop who describes his intense experience in his book "My Baba and I". In that case it was a complete metamorphosis into Krishna. Quite a lot of people have seen an aura around SSB. Even people who were never devotees. I do not have an explanation and like you I wondered about that quite often. Those stories made defection more difficult because I saw them as evidence that SSB was indeed Krishna. Andries
