As I suspected, the only benefit could be from the belief that a higher power is keeping his eye on you, something which Rawat doesn't have a monopoly on.  I'm fortunate in that I've never been stricken in that way, nor has anyone in my immediate circle, & so it's a subject which I have never taken much interest in & know little about.  However, as Dant pointed out recently, the percentage of premies with mental illnesses was certainly larger than in the general population, & as I remember, the only advice to anyone experiencing difficulties with following Rawat, regardless of the cause, was, 'do more meditation & everything will be ok'.

This is bordering on criminal negligence, but of course is unattributable to anything the Perfect Master ever said directly.

Shortly after I exed, I met a new premie who had spent a long time in a psychiatric hospital.  She seemed happy enough, but was intent on blowing the major part of a meagre inheritance in order to go to Australia to be with Prem.  I tried to talk her out of it, & actually would have done so even if I'd still been a premie, but fearing for her sanity if I pressed too hard, I gave up.

It really, really, pisses me off that vulnerable people & their money should still be welcomed with open arms by Elan Vital.

Haven't they learned anything at all in their 30 + years of operation ?

Stupid question.
