Just to play the Devil's Advocate for a moment, I think the Inspirational Speaker could well be alluding in his folksy sub-continental way,to the truism that in tightly knit families which present a unified face to the world, the paterfamilias is likely to be intolerant of opinions within, which outside he is prepared to overlook in the interests of the clan.

In other words if your son gets a taste for smoking opium, beat the shit out of him, but if you have to do business with an opium dealer, smile & shake his hand.

What I can't understand is how EV (UK), an Educational Charity, can justify inviting this man as the only speaker to its public events.

Then there's this bit:

What's he talking about?   I never once heard him mention Ravan in all the years I listened to him explaining whatever it was he was supposed to be 'educating' us about.

Who is this Ravan anyway, & why is he so important to understanding what the fuck is going on here, & why didn't Rawat spell this out when he was the Lord of the Universe.

To be charitable, this is very sloppy.  At the worst it's bordering on criminal deception.
