Thanks for your response Godo. I see you're getting it from all sides in the thread above, but you do have to expect that if you are going to post here.

I think you said you were from Ireland. I don't know how things were there, but if you had been living in the States at the time, you would have been in the premie minority with your philosophy. Although I live in Germany now, I come from the States. I lived in several ashrams in NYC, Chicago and Minneapolis in the late 70's-early 80's. The fast majority of premies I knew, which were alot, believed that Rawat was divine. Of course there were some premies who didn't think this way but they were the exception. When I would talk to one of these premies, I remember thinking that they were "in their minds."

There is no way that Rawat could have been unaware of this belief in premies. So my question is now, did Rawat, through his actions and words, discourage this belief that he was divine, or rather encourage this belief throughout the 1970s and into the 1980s?

You can probably guess my answer already. I mean come on Godo, you studied psychology. What kind of semiotics is behind thousands of people singing arti to you? Arti is a form of prayer. What sort of thing or person does one pray to? Do you remember Rawat dressing up like Krishna and being pushed around on that cart in Kissimmee? What kind of message is he giving to his followers when he does that? And don't you remember Rawat screaming, "surrender to Guru Maharaji" and not to knowledge? Okay so now you definitely know my answer. What's yours?
